Colonel Ponung Doming, stationed at an altitude of 19,400 feet and facing -20 degrees Celsius in Hanle, Ladakh, serves as a pivotal figure in the army. In her role as the first female officer to lead the Border Roads Task Force (BRTF), the 42-year-old officer is actively supervising crucial road initiatives along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. Colonel Doming is currently dedicated to overseeing the construction of 300 kilometers of roads in the Demchok sector, as well as managing the development of bridges and a fighter air base at Nyoma in eastern Ladakh.
