On Monday, the Supreme Court did not halt the Calcutta High Court's decision to invalidate the appointment of over 25,000 teachers in West Bengal. However, it did prevent the CBI from conducting further investigation into the recruitment scam. The state, feeling alarmed, feared that the central agency might disrupt the TMC government by potentially arresting the entire cabinet during the election campaign.
