(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Amman, Mar. 25 (Petra)- The Ministry of Health announced 96 Covid-19 fatalities and 8, 433 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Thursday, bringing the death toll to 6,277 and the caseload to 571, 290.The new infections comprised 3, 469 cases in the capital, Amman, 1, 383 in Irbid, including 164 in the northern border district of Ramtha, 1, 255 in Zarqa, 426 in Balqa, 334 in Karak, 274 in Jerash, 274 in Ajloun, 269 in Madaba, 265 in Mafraq, 225 in Aqaba, 186 in Tafielh, and 73 in Ma'an , including 15 in Petra region, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.The statement added that there are currently 101, 120 active COVID-19 cases in Jordan.The number of hospitalizations today stood at 479, while 321 patients have recovered and discharged, the statement noted.According to the briefing, the total number of recoveries recorded Thursday, whether at hospitals or at home, stood at 7,705, bringing the total to 463,893 since the outbreak began.Moreover, the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 3, 426.The statement also indicated that occupancy of the total ICU bed capacity has hit 77%.With regard to testing, 46,699 tests were conducted Thursday, 18.06 percent of which were positive.Since last March, the total number of tests administered has increased to 5,664,285, the joint statement noted.
