(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Amman, Mar. 27 (Petra)-The Ministry of Health announced 98 Covid-19 fatalities and 4, 399 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Saturday, bringing the death toll to 6,472 and the caseload to 582, 133.The new infections comprised 1, 980 cases in the capital, Amman, 851 in Irbid, including 14 in the northern border district of Ramtha, 305 in Balqa, 284 in Mafraq, 210 in Zarqa, 152 in Karak, 144 in Jerash, 133 in Tafileh, 114 in Madaba, 94 in Aqaba, 79 in Ajloun, , and 53 in Ma'an , including 12 in Petra region, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.The statement added that there are currently 99, 571 active COVID-19 cases in Jordan.The number of hospitalizations today stood at 381, while 209 patients have recovered and discharged, the statement noted.According to the briefing, the total number of recoveries recorded Saturday, whether at hospitals or at home, stood at 8,053, bringing the total to 476,090 since the outbreak began.Moreover, the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 3, 455.The statement also indicated that occupancy of the total ICU bed capacity has hit 73%, 82%, and 43% in the northern, central and southern regions, respectively.With regard to testing, 27,950 tests were conducted Saturday, 15.74 percent of which were positive.Since last March, the total number of tests administered has increased to 5,733,071, the joint statement noted.
