Jordan- Army foils infiltration attempt on border with Syria

(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Amman, Apr. 20 (Petra) -- A border guard unit on Tuesday engaged three individuals who tried to cross into the Kingdom from Syria, injuring one and seizing a quantity of drugs, according to a Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army official.The infiltrators were forced to retreat inside Syrian territory, he said, adding that a search of the area uncovered 200,000 pills of the fenethylline drug.The official reiterated that the army will firmly and decisively respond to any smuggling or infiltration attempt or anyone trying to tamper with the Kingdom's security.
