Jordan- SFD, KHCF sign agreement to treat Syrian refugee cancer patients

(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Amman, Apr. 25 (Petra)- The Saudi ambassador to Jordan, Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairy, discussed on Sunday with the Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF), Nisreen Qatamesh, ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides.On the sidelines of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) and the KHCF to contribute to financing treatment of cancer patients from Syrian refugees.Speakinfg during the signing ceremony, Al-Sudairy praised the capabilities available at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) and its "good" reputation at the regional level, in addition to the "pioneering" role, which the KHCF plays in fighting cancer locally and internationally.The diplomat said: The efforts made by the KHCF are "appreciated and admired," lauding its workers' professionalism and seriousness in treating the cancer patients.For her part, Qatamesh said the donation presented by the Saudi government continues support for patients who are in dire need of the necessary treatment and health care.Qatamesh noted the Saudi grant, which provides financial assistance to less fortunate cancer patients, will be directed to the Syrian refugees in Jordan.Expressing her deep thanks to the Saudi assistance, she said: "I thank and appreciate this munificent support and donation from Saudi Arabia on behalf of many refugee cancer patients and their families who will have the opportunity to complete treatment at KHCC thanks to this generous support."
