(MENAFN) A report by the royal court said that on Wednesday, May. 26 King Abdullah II of Jordan cautioned Israel to end its breaches in Jerusalem and against Al-Aqsa Mosque, while denouncing its illicit endeavors to force Palestinians out from their houses in East Jerusalem neighborhoods. In his assembly with visiting U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the King noted Jordan will maintain its attempts to protect Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, stressing the need to conserve the historical and legal status quo of Jerusalem. He further said that the absence of a political resolution that ensures the fair and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the founding of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 frontier with East Jerusalem as its capital will bring more tension and instability to the region. On the other side, Blinken voiced appreciation of Jordan's major part in keeping security and stability in the region.
