*WASHINGTON / ACCESSWIRE / October 17, 2023 / *Fragrance Creators Association's 2023 Capitol Hill Perfumery Event, held today in the Capitol Visitors Center, showcased the bond between fragrances and emotion. This immersive event united eminent perfumers and association leaders with over 100 attendees, including Representative Barry Loudermilk (R-GA), co-chair of the Congressional Fragrance Caucus; Representative Rich McCormick (R-GA); Representative Sanford Bishop (D-GA); Representative Brad Schneider (D-IL); other policymakers; staff; and media professionals. Through interactive scent experiences, attendees explored the profound link between fragrances, our sense of smell, and our sense of well-being.

World-renowned perfumers created custom fragrances developed exclusively for the evening in various mediums, including fine fragrance, linen spray, laundry beads, and candles. These scents - from uplifting and invigorating to tranquil and relaxing - led attendees to relive the occasions, journeys, and connections that contribute to their well-being. Perfumers included Heather Killgo of Arylessence, Inc., Dennis Maroney of IFF, Rafael Trujillo of Procter & Gamble, and Arielle Le Beau of Robertet USA.

"Our perfumers are scientists and artists, blending these expertise to create scents that deliver delight through everyday products," said Amanda Nguyen, Vice President, Government Affairs & Legal, Fragrance Creators. "We hope that attendees of today's event were able to learn about the innovation behind our industry, and to escape into our well-being retreat for a much-needed break from the rigors of everyday life."

"Scent is closely associated with the emotional centers of the brain, evoking memories, promoting positive psychological health, and influencing overall well-being," said Farah K. Ahmed, President and CEO, Fragrance Creators. "It is our aim to help policymakers appreciate the intersection of scent and self-care - the human element - with the importance of regulations that foster innovation and nurture responsible industry growth."

The 2023 Perfumery Event was presented with the support of the Congressional Fragrance Caucus, which was introduced in 2018 and recertified for the 118^th Congress. Chaired by Representatives Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12) and Barry Loudermilk (GA-11), the Caucus represents a bipartisan opportunity for policymakers to engage on the science of fragrance, the industry's contributions to the economy, and more.
