A group of civic society on Aug 14 held protest near the Pakistani embassy in Kathmandu denouncing atrocities over Hindu minorities as well as destruction of Buddha idols and temples. Members of Rastriya Ekata Abhiyan held placards and banners denouncing the move of Pakistan Government and had marched near the Pakistan mission in Nepal when they were stopped by security forces. Alerted by the gathering the Pakistani Embassy called on the local police who seized the banners and holding from protestors and sent protestors back into bus in which they came to the spot.
Spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Anurag Srivastava organised a media brief on Aug 14. On Kulbhushan Jhadav case, he said,"Pakistan has consistently failed to address the core issues in implementation of ICJ judgment in Kulbhushan Jhadav case, in its letter and spirit. These issues pertain to the provision of relevant documents and providing unimpeded consular access to Kulbhushan." On Kerala Gold Smuggling case, he said, "The matter is under investigation of NIA (National Investigation Agency). MEA is extending all necessary facilitation for the investigation."
Baloch People's Congress Chairperson Naela Quadri Baloch calls August 14 as 'Black Day' in the history of Balochistan. "Balochistan was invaded by Pakistan, as Pakistan was landlocked country. They are selling Baloch ports to China and Baloch people are against it. For Baloch people, August 14 is a worst day in human history just like the days of holocaust. Baloch people, Sundhis, Pashtun, Muhajir, Hindus everybody in Pakistan they are prison," said Quadri Baloch on Pakistan Independence Day.
Five officials of the Indian Embassy in Pakistan, including the two who were abducted and tortured by Pakistan security agencies, return to India via the Attari-Wagah border in Amritsar on June 22. Earlier on June 15, India summoned Pakistan's Charge d'affaires Syed Haider Shah and issued a demarche over the reported arrest of two officials in Islamabad. Pakistan was asked to return the two officials along with the official car to the High Commission immediately. The incident took place days after two Pakistani officials at Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi were deported for espionage activities in India.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched a portal for 'Opportunitiesf Make In India in Defence' via video conferencing facility as part of 'Atmanirbharta Week'. The portal will promote the indigenization in defence sector. Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat also attended the valedictory session. The event took place in New Delhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a platform for "Transparent Taxation - Honoring the Honest" via video conferencing in New Delhi on August 12. "This platform has big reforms such as faceless assessment, faceless appeal, and taxpayers charter. Faceless assessment and taxpayers charter come in force from today, whereas faceless appeal service will be available from September 25," Prime Minister Narendra Narendra Modi. Union Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman was also present in the meeting along with other officials.
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra vacated her official Lodhi Estate bungalow on Thursday. Priyanka handed over the possession to CPWD on Thursday. An official statement issued by the Congress said Priyanka Gandhi handed over the possession of her 35, Lodhi Estate bungalow, "previously allotted to her on security grounds", to the CPWD. "She will be residing in a temporary accommodation until a more permanent accommodation in Delhi rented by her is ready for use," an official communication from the Congress party said. Earlier in the day, a team of central PWD officials visited her house and took the keys of the Lodhi Estate bungalow. Centre had cancelled Priyanka’s New Delhi accommodation at Lodhi Estate. The Ministry of Urban Development issued a notice to Priyanka Gandhi on July 1, asking her to vacate the Lodhi Estate bungalow before August 1, as she was no longer eligible for it after her security cover was downgraded last year. Priyanka had earlier this month cleared her pending dues. The said house has since been allotted to BJP's media department in-charge and Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni. Priyanka was allotted the 35, Lodhi Estate bungalow in New Delhi in 1997.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Mauritian counterpart Pravind Jugnauth jointly inaugurated the new Supreme Court building in Port Louis through video conferencing. The new Supreme Court building was completed with Indian assistance as part of New Delhi's thrust on cooperation with countries in the Indian Ocean Region. Senior members of the judiciary from Mauritius and other dignitaries from both countries were present during the occasion. "First of all, I congratulate the Government and people of Mauritius for effective management of the COVID-19 global pandemic. I am happy that India was able to support this effort through timely supplies of medicines and sharing of experiences," said PM Modi. During his address, Prime Minister Modi said India and Mauritius respect independent judiciaries as important pillars of our democratic systems. "Both India and Mauritius respect our independent judiciaries as important pillars of our democratic systems.
