Wild boar that stole nudist's laptop could face death for being too friendly

The wild boar that stole a laptop from a nudist at a German lake may be killed because it has become too comfortable among humans, authorities say.

Earlier this month, photos of a naked man chasing the animal went viral after they were posted to Instagram by Adele Landauer.

The man had been relaxing at the lake at Teufelssee, a popular nudist spot in Berlin, when he was forced to give chase. (He did eventually recover his laptop.)

Yesterday at the lake in Berlin I saw a real hero. A female wild boar with two babies came out of the forest in order to search for food. In Berlin we are free people - we love to bathe in the sun and lake like we are born. So, there were many people laying on their towels completely naked. Many of us were scared but the wild boars seemed to be peaceful. After they ate a pizza from a backpack of a man who was taking a swim in the lake they were looking for a dessert. They found this yellow bag and decided to take it away. But the man who owned it realized it was the bag with his laptop. So, he was very focused and run behind the boars in order to get it back. Everyone of us adored him how focused he stayed and when he came back with his yellow bag in the hand we all clapped and congratulated him for his success. This happens when you’re focused on your goals. xoxoxo Adele . . . #hero #wildboar #berlin #coaching #onlinecourse #digitalcoaching #workshop #businesscoaching #lifecoachingtips #erfolgreichwerden #ausstrahlung #charisma #selbstwert #bewusstsein #kommunikation #selbstbewusstsein #veränderung #gespräch #dialog #selbstverwirklichung #powerfulthoughts #führung #radiance #weiterbildung #zieleereeichen #inspiration #präsentationstraining #publicspeaking #körpersprache #bodylanguage

The incident made the sow, named Elsa, and her piglets famous, but that may have sealed their fate.

Berlin’s chief forest ranger Katja Kammer has been worried about the boar and her piglets for some time, and now she is reportedly convinced they must be “withdrawn,” which means “killed.”

“This wild boar and her two young are frequent visitors at Teufelssee … they have lost any instinct of shyness,” she told local broadcaster RBB, according to a report by the Irish Times . “It’s only luck that, to date, nothing serious has happened.”

Is this the new world? So many newspapers, radio and TV shows worldwide wrote about my story in Facebook and Instagram about the wild boars in Berlin. So, today I went to this lake again. And can you imagine? The same mother wild boar with her babies was there again. Totally peaceful in the middle of the crowd. As you see in my video no one really cared much because they all felt comfortable with each other. I have a dream one day we all will live peacefully together. All the different nations, cultures, religions with all their different viewpoints of life. Maybe this scene shows how it could happen. Human beings and wildlife are pretty big contradictions. But as we see we can make it together. What do you think about it? Give me a ✨ if you have the same dream: All beings on planet earth could live peacefully together. Thousands were outraged by Kammer’s comments and have rallied to the defence of the wild swine family.

The Guardian reported that a group called Action Fair Play gathered about a dozen protesters at the forestry office on Sunday.

And a change.org petition has garnered more than 7,000 signatures supporting the rescue of the “cheeky but peaceful sow from Teufelssee,” the Guardian reported.

“This wild boar has earned the right to live,” the organizers say. “This sow has peacefully shared her living space with bathers for years.”

But it’s Elsa’s friendliness that authorities are worried about.

For now, her piglets are too young for the family to be killed, but, the Irish Times reports, wild boar hunting season begins in October.
