The quake occurred at a depth of 10 km, and the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center stated that no tsunami was anticipated. The Philippines' seismology agency warned of potential damage and aftershocks from the offshore quake, noting that areas in the southern provinces of Sarangani and South Cotabato experienced Intensity 8.
