And thas your first aleit's 6:5 morning sprint -- as our team gives you more local news than anybody else to start your friday.

We start in the dells this morning... where overnight officials identified the missing child in the wisconsin river as an 11- year-old grand marsh boy.

Crews will start their third day of searching to try to recover the body of jamison owen dean miller.

Miller was reported missing around six tuesday night.

He was swimming with his family along the beach when he went underwater and never resurfaced.

A plan for a u-s military strike against iran is now cancelled... just hours before it was supposed to start.

The u-s made preparations for an attack in retaliation for downing a u-s surveillance drone this week.

The new-york- times reports that president trump had approved the strikes overnight... but later them called them off.

This morning ... iran claims it issued multipled warnings before shooting down the drone.

The chief of police in richland center, lucas clements, is currently under investigation by the state.

News 3 now recieved information from somoene who lives in town that the department of criminal investigatoins is conducting the investigation.

The county sheriff confirmed that to us.

Cihef clements is currently on administrative leave and declined to answer our questions about the investigation.

The grant county sheriff's office is now investigating what happened when a man died while in the richland county jail wednesday night.

Deputies arrested 25- year-old kevin flint, and while he was being booked, the sheriff said he had a medical reaction... and later died at the hospital.

The sheriff is waiting to release more details until the autopsy and toxicology report is in.

The tenney boat lock will also be open for free passage tomorrow.

The american family championship returns to university ridge golf course this weekend... with a star-studded field of players.

The championship... now in its fourth year... is hosted by madison's very own steve stricker.

This section will be closed until around 7 at night on sunday.
