Philippines police chief survives helicopter crash in Manila

This was the aftermath of a helicopter crash outside Manila, the Philippines that was carrying a police chief and other high-ranking figures after it hit an electrical pole on March 5.

The incident occurred in the Laguna Province, south of Manila shortly after the passengers attended a police event close by.

According to the police spokesperson, the helicopter carrying chief General Archie Gamboa, had just taken off from a police compound when its propeller snagged on an electrical wire, causing the crash.

All eight people who were on board at the time survived but two others are in critical condition.

Onboard were four generals - including Gamboa - an aide and three helicopter crew.
