Reitz claimed the program's 13th sectional championship with a win over castle..
But if you ask the panthers..
They will tell you they are not satisfied with where they are just yet.
Our very own andrew garcia has more with the panthers as they chase a regional title.
On saturday, the reitz basketball team claimed it's first sectional crown in 4 years.
It's no fun to get really close and not get it done.
It's a lot more fun to be on this side of it so we're excited, i really thought the kids stepped up so, obviously we're really excited to be able to continue to play.
In all my four years and being a senior, it was nice to get one, it felt great having, it being in evansville, having our crowd there, it felt great.
We've got a good support system around here, on the west side you know so everybody came out, cheered us on and we got it.
The panthers first opponent at regionals will be greenwood, who has won 3 games in a row, all by double digits.
Offensively, they like to slow it way down, we have to speed them up we need to get them running and get them to our pace of the game.
Do what we've been doing really, attacking, that's what we're good at, we've got a lot of scorers on this team so, we just attack a lot and stick good defense and we should be able to go far.
Probably about as physical a team as i've seen all year, we're really going to have to match their intensity.
We really want to make this a game of possessions and get them going.
With the sectional drought now snapped, the panthers are focusing on climbing the next step.
We have a lot of hype around us.
We have a lot of guys that will play at the next level and we need to live up to that hype and if we can put it together, then we'll get it done like the 2015 team did.
We've been dreaming about this since, seventh grade, eighth grade, perry heights days so, you know this group in particular we've always looked up to the 2015 state team and we wanted to be in those shoes.
Basically we're just trying to pursue our dreams really.
