Tupelo public school district contract Servepro to clean the schools over spring break

Over 1000 coronavirus cases across the country, the tupelo public school district is using spring break as a chance to disinfect schools.

Wtva's chelsea brown is live with a look at how one cleaning company is working to get the classrooms ready for kids to return next week.

It is easy for kids to transfer sicknesses while at school, especially with younger children sharing so much while in class.

The tupelo public school district is taking preventative measures while the kids are out to clean the school.

Servepro crews were here at joyner elementary school earlier this afternoon to sanitize the enitre school while students are on spring break.

Servepro crews cleaned the whole school, even wiping down each chair, table, and door frame.

Crews have been working to clean all of the tupelo public schools over the break.

I spoke with gregg ellis, director of communications at tupelo public schools, he told me he is working with the cdc to help education families, administrators and students.

The school is sending out flyers and fact sheets with information on the coronavirus and how to keep healthy after the students return from spring break the sanitation continues by making sure hand sanitizers throughout all the buildings are easily located and filled.

Ellis also told me he is looking at ways to thoroughly disinfect once school starts back up.

Something that we should already be doing but need to remember is to wash your hands, continue to use hand sanitizer, and if you are sick..

Don't go to work or school where you could get others sick.
