If needed, itawamba community college stands ready to help recovering covid-19 patients.

Icc says it will serve as an alternate care site.

The goal of opening a building on the fulton campus would be to free up 100 hospital beds.

Patients would be at the end of the recovery process from the coronavirus.

Medical workers would be housed in dorms. icc says the site was chosen, in part, due to its close location to tupelo medical facilities.

Discussions with the state started last week.
