LPD identifies officers involved in Tuesday morning shooting

Two Lafayette police officers are on paid administrative leave after they shot a man who allegedly pointed a gun at them.

Lpd has identified the officers as khoury elias and israel salazar.

We first brought you this story as breaking news tuesday on news 18 this morning.

Police said trevor bowie stole a gun from his girlfriend's house in the 800 block of north 7th street.

Officers later found bowie and a chase began.

When police say he pointed his gun at the officers, elias and salazar fired.

Lpd says bowie is still in the hospital, but is stable.

A review board for the shooting has been scheduled for monday.
