Jason will be joining us shortly.

We begin tonight with long lines and long wait times...as people came out today to get an antibody test for the coronavirus these tests are being privately done..and are not being paid for by the state.

News channel two's brent kearney joins us now live from south utica.

Brent good evening.

Yea kristen, these tests are also not free but they do accept insurance.

But regardless they say the reason for opening these tests up is because people are curious.

And want to make the tests available for whoever needs them.

Its day one of anitbody testing for the employees here at primary urgent care and the lines are long some waiting for 3 hours.

.

None .

None "the gentleman just came out and told us it was a 6 hour wait in buffalo so 3 hours isnt so bad.

Its not a bad day its not particularly cold or nasty so we've got nothing else to do."

Anticipating a high demand, management called as much staff as they could to keep up with demand.

"immediatly it was all hands on deck we called in every staff member and between the both locations we have everybody working."

The tests dont require and appointment and are available to anyone who may think they had the virus, medical director a.j.

Klimeck tells me the antibody tests gives the state the oppurtunity to fight back "our country has been on the defensive for a long time now and this is o chance to on the s antiboes.

They havehe oppurtunity to donate plma to possibly provide treatment to a critically ill patient."

Dr. klimeck tells me their are plenty of tests to go around.

Klimeck says they recieved an additional 4000 test tubes.

"the governor is saying we need more testing.

Well we are going to put our money where his mouth is.

And we are going to provide testing and get after this."

> and dan trevesani just came up to me with the numbers.

And with both locations combined, they have teated over 300 people.

If you wanna get tested their hours are 7:30 am to 7:30 pm.
