College seniors reflect on post-graduation life amid pandemic

One group in particular is clinging tight to final moments, as one significant chapter in their lives are coming to a close: the class of 2020.

For college seniors, life took a twist pretty quick and many just want to know what their future holds.

Kezi 9 news reporter kennedy dendy checked in with some university of oregon seniors to find out what completing senior year in the middle of a pandemic is really like.

Owen:?day by day, everything changed so fast?

Any college senior would have expected their last moments of campus life to look much different.

But as time ticks away, many are left feeling overwhelmed and seeking clarity on what is next.

Owen: a ton of what ifs are running through my mind.

You know there's some days where i'm like it's gonna be okay, you know this is a good time to work on your craft and, work on yourself, get into a new routine and try new things.

And then there's other times where it's like, oh my gosh i'm gonna be living at home forever?

Owen seiler envisioned walking across the stage as family and friends watched...and with his peers right by his side.

For bernice amaya... commencement would have been a lifelong dream for the entire family.

Bernice: "as a first generation student, i never imagined this my parents didn't imagine this.

My dad is actually an immigrant, so i know he himself and his family were really looking forward to just cheering me on at graduation."

Bridge: graduating during a pandemic was the last thing anyone thought would happen, but as some students i spoke to say...they have to make the best of it all, and things will return to normal when the time is right.

Bernice: don't.

Ideally, sit by.

This is your time to be proactive for your future.

And also just build those connections.

We have zoom, we have facetime so i mean the world isn't completely put on pause.

You can still, you know just do things that'll help you?

Owen:?if it's anything that's gonna help you make money, some small job, odd job.

You know, do it.

But for the class of 2020, the focus right now...to finish out strong and to hold tight to the final moments still ahead.
