Close-Contact Businesses Ready for Re-Opening
Hair Salons, and Barbershops Can Open Monday at 5pm

Its industry and employees.

With governor kay ivey allowing close-contact businesses like hair salons and barbershops to reopen in just two days... we're learning some of the adjustments they will be making before welcoming customers back.

Waay-31s alexis scott spoke with a stylist at shutter and shears salon about what will be a different when you walk through the doors.

Alexis?

Starting monday evening....if you have an appointment here at shutter and shears you must stay in your car and text your stylist that you're outside.

You will only be able to come when it is time for your appointment... because once inside there will only be one client inside per stylist.

One of the stylists told me there will be no walk-in appointments at least until june because most of their stylists are booked up through the end of this month... they work in a small space and chairs are already spaced out.

They will also be closing their waiting area until the coronavirus pandemic dies down.

One stylist told me as soon as the governor announced salons could reopen... she booked more than 3-thousand dollars in services in less than a few hours.

She says she can't wait to get back to work after a long 2 months away.... but wants her clients to know it'll be a bit different.

I'm only booking two clients a day because i'm allowing myself 30 minutes in between each client to wipe everything down, to change my smock, to just prepare megan johnson told me her clients have all been patient and she's thankful for a family she calls a tribe during this time.

Right now... the salon isn't requiring that a client wear a mask... but stylists will be wearing them for their safety and yours.
