Churches Opening Today

After a two month hiatus, today is the first time for some church congregations will be able to meet at their places of worship.

Waay31s sierra phillips is live at a church in huntsville that plans to open their doors for wednesday services.

Today, will be the first time in weeks that church members will gather in the pews here at saint joseph's church in huntsville...but services will look a little different.

Families won't find books in the pews and will be asked to sit 6 feet apart from other families.

Over at morningside baptist church, they will continue to live stream their services for now.

The pastor told us he is meeting with church leaders on sunday to find the right time to bring everyone back together.

It's hard when we're not together, but its also shown us that the church is not this building the church is not this organization, its the family of faith that we're apart of, so people are keeping in touch with each other.

Right now -- the health order does not have a limit on how many people can be at a service, just that social distancing practices must be in place.

Reporting live in huntsville sierra phillips waay31 news.

Thanks sierra.

While some in people are eager to go out and re-open..

With orders that need to be filled -- employees are being called back to work... but not all want to come back.
