Manhunt For Capital Murder Suspect

Police and deputies are searching for a capital murder suspect in the Danville area.

Police and deputies searching for a suspect in the danville area.

That search is getting closer to 24 hours now since the crime.

Police say carson peters shot and killed three people at a danville home last night.

The sheriff's office believes he may be traveling with april hanner who you see on the right in a black chevy pickup truck.

They should be considered armed and dangerous.

Let's get to sydney martin who's been covering this horrific crime and the search all day.

She's live at the command post this evening after working to learn the latest on this manhunt >> sydney martin: sheriff ron puckett arrived here at the comantd post within the last five minutes.

I've been told he's in the area all day long while his deputies have searched for both of these people.

Now n the last hour an ambulance also arrived at the command post if it's needed for anybody here in the area ready to respond.

Now the special response unit you see behind me is also set up and helping and that showed up about two hours ago.

Right now we know there are three warrants for peters' arrest in the murders of three people.

He's accused of shooting another person who was taken to huntsville hospital and that person is in stable condition this evening.

As for april hanner, the woman he's believed to be with, they tell me both are believed to be armed and dangerous but haven't revealed the connection between hanner and peters.

Right now authorities won't say what charges she's facing if any the sheriff's office told me the sheriff has been in the area throughout the day and decatur police is in charge of the homicide investigation that's underway while the morgan county sheriff's office is leading this manhunt.

They tell me hundreds of tips have come in since last night when the murders happened.

The victims and peters are family but won't tell me exactly how they're all related.

The sheriff's office told me it plans on staying out here in the kneel and danville community throughout the evening and really until they locate these two people that they're looking for.

If you do live in the area, you're asked to stay alert and aware.

And if you see anything that's suspicious, they ask for you to call authorities.

Do not approach either of these people because they're believed to be armed and dangerous.
