Districts already working on ways to support students
New School Year Still Up In Air
While the start of the new school year is still up in the air... districts are already working on ways to support students and staff emotionally when they return.
The kentucky department of education says... while there is always concerns about the transition when schools reopen... this year is expected to be particularly challenging because of covid-19.
It's advising teachers and administrators to operate on the assumption that everyone returning will have experienced some degree of anxiety and stress, uncertainty, illness, grief and loss.
It also warns schools will likely see an increased number of learning, behavioral and emotional problems from more students.
