Clergy and parishioners came together in Utica Friday to mourn the death of George Floyd, a victim who died after police allegedly used excessive force to restrain him.

Faith met in the parking lot of the tabernacle baptist church in utica to mourn the death of george floyd, and to recognize the tears that go unseen.

The group came together as a symbol of unity.

They hope to be able to break down barriers between local law enforcement and the community.

--and encourage people to turn to prayer.

Reverend debbie kelsey, tabernacle baptist church pastor because we've gathered today people will be aware that their tears are seen.

We are symbolically adding water to their tears.

They are not alone in their struggles, and we would like to see an end to the violence that' bo out of racism.

The group believes this will be an ongoing effort to bring people together for education and the common good.
