More than 200 people turning out here to protest the death of george floyd.

Hundreds of protesters gathered at the front entrance of our studios - those protesters marching through the city- tonight - we are at riverside drive - where you can hear people chanting black lives matter - no justice no peace - and tonight their demanding unity - and answers - "no justice no peace, no justice no peace" tonight in evansville - peaceful protesters demanding justice for george floyd and other black citizens who have died during police situations - "waking up everyday i don't know if i matter, thats the america we live in right now, i don't know if i matter because of the color of my skin" more than 200 people came together - locking arms - outside our 44news studios sharing the same message - all of them looking for love and answers - as the nation is in turmoil - violent protests continue in cities near and far - "police terrify me and they shouldn't they are suppose to protect and serve, i have had horrible experiences with he police, evansville police, they scare me" in evansville the protesters - are all made up of different ethic backgrounds - creeds- races- cultures - everyone - identifying as brothers and sisters- "we are america, true americans, true patriots, we help our brothers and sisters, we help out brothers and sisters or color - our brothers and sisters who are trans, gay, we don't care what you look like, who you are what disability you have, the police have to stop" wednesday some of those protester's declared their frustration with local media coverage over saturday protest arrests in evansville - all local media outlets in the tri-state reported the arrests based on the same statement provided by the evansville police department - protesters claim the people arrested did no wrong - however, epd officials say that not the case.

Tonight - tensions are "it hits my heart you know, we shouldn't have to be out here, this is what our grandparents fought for, this is what our parents fought for, i shouldn't be afraid, i shouldn't be scared for my family to leave the house and not know if they going to come back, you know" according to epd, around 5:15 saturday evening, one protester crossed through the police line in an attempt to provoke officers.

A second protester followed - both arrested - "i don't believe there are any good officers out there, the black officers go through the same power trip, that the white officers do, i don't believe there are any good police other there no matter the race" julian washington says as a black man he is scared of the police - not just here in evansville - but anywhere he goes - the washington claims he's been stopped by police for no reason - "its been countless times, i have been stopped in this city right here, i have to be guarded, when i hear the police coming- you have to chill our and think with a clear mind" evansville police say there is a large protest schedule for saturday - the police department tell me they're preparing for the anything to happen, live in evansville, tyler druin 44news - a much different scene playing
