The Starkville community gathered Friday morning for the Unity Prayer Rally led by Pastor LeRoy Davenport.

Community here in starkville is calling for change in the justice system...in law enforcement and in each of our hearts.

Pastors, police officers and residents gathered at the unity prayer rally this morning as a response to these nationwide issues.

If you would bow your heads.

Father we bow before you today acknowledging you are the god of all peace, you're the god of all hope, you're the god of all strength and the god of unity."

((sot)) "all the things that transpired throughout our state and nation throughout the last week, just through our conversation people said the church needs to respond.

I took the lead on it and met with several pastors through out the starkville community, both black and white.

Of all different types of denominations because we wanted to make sure that we're a diverse group."

But really there is hope and to see that there's hope happening and there's beauty happening and there's restoration and reconciliation happening and it is possible.

I want to pray specifically for police brutality.

We don't have that issue here in starkville but it's a problem in our nation.

And as other nations hurt and other cities hurt, we hurt also."

Joseph stone-pastor, second baptist church trt-1:48;03 pastor joseph stone who closed in prayer at the end is organizing a community protest tomorrow.

He said the route and time will be released for those wanting to participate.
