Linda gorton says there will be a committee meeting on tuesday to discuss the possibilty of abolishing no-knock warrants and the creation of a civilian review board for police.

In our top story at 11....according to our crew on scene several people were detained tonight going into the third week straight of protests in downtown lexington... and new today mayor linda gorton says police contract reform discussions are set for tuesday....the first official date we've heard from the mayor about addressing protesters' demands.... abc 36s bobbi mcswine joins us live from downtown.

Bobbi, from your view what made police detain protesters?

### monica...a group of protesters were walked through the barricade police set up outside of the police department on main street....and that's when police approached to detain them.

Protesters were laying on the pavement and planned to stay there for 8 minutes and 46 seconds... the amount of time minneapolis derek chauvin had his knee on george floyd's neck.

But that plan was cut short.

I contacted lexington police about the number of people taken into custody and what charges they face.... protesters say despite going behind the barrier that they were still peaceful and no one should have been arrested.

One...that i talked to at this morning's protest...damon davenport jr...says it was expected.

"i'm not surprised.

I'm not surprised at all.

Because look at our justice system.

And as long as it's broken.

Stuff like this is going to happen....that we paid for" he and other protestors say things will continue to escalate until change can be seen.

Going back to this morning...mayor linda gorton says a meeting will be held on tuesday to discuss the possibily of abolishing no knock waarants in lexington and creating a civilian review board for police.

Live in lexington.

Bobbi mcswine.
