Moratorium on no-knock

Mayor Linda Gorton puts hold on warrants

Gorton has announced she has placed a moratorium on the use of no knock search warrants...which she says were already seldom used in lexington...and have long been controversial, but even more so after officers in louisville used that type of warrant the night breonna taylor was shot and killed.

Lexington's police chief has signed off on the moratorium except in life or death situations.

This comes as lexington's urban county council looks at what can be done to eliminate racial injustice and discrimination...as it also considers possible changes to policies and procedures in the police department.
