)hey good evening everyone..

Well as they wait, wait, and wait some more, major league baseball playrs like josh vanmeter have had to continually find unique ways to both stay in shape and stay sharp over the last few months..)for vanmeter, that's meant working out a lot on his own, but this weekend, the ossian native was able to take the field with some peers, thanks to one of his current teammates..cincinnati reds catcher tucker barnhart, also an indiana native, organizing an informal workout for college and pro ball players in westfield on friday..cool event, giving these guys a chance to interact with each other and some fans while raising money for charity..but it also gave vanmeter a chance to step back into the batter's box..)josh vanmeter: "i mean, it was good.

I haven't seen a live pitch since the middle of march, so for me it was all about just getting that timing back and seeing the ball more than anything.

Towards the end, started to feel a lot better, but just to get reps and see some live arms is really the biggest thing.")of course the norwell high school grad is hoping he'll get a chance to play in real games at some point this year..on monday, another twist in the dispute between major league baseball and its players association...this afternoon, just days after saying he was 100 percent sure players would take the field in 2020, comissioner rob manfred walked those comments back, telling e-s-p-n he is no longer confident there will be a season..and like a lot of us, vanmeter is crossing his fingers it won't come to that..

)?vanmeter: "i think everybody misses baseball, especially the players, but even the fans.

There's nothing the players would like more than to be out there playing in front of fans, so we miss it more
