Savannah BOE hears debate regarding school mascot

Said there is no really nice way to pair the word savage with native americans... others said... the savages mascot means a pride in the community and honors native americans... for two hours tonight..

The savannah school board heard from more than 30 people..

Some adamant on changing the mascot... some passionately wanting to keep savages front and center... however, there were others who said they would like to find some middle ground -- by keeping the savage name, but changing the logo and its image... here is just a sample of what they heard tonight.
