Savannah school district's use of the mascot "savages", we learned last night just how passionate some are about the issue... kq2's chris roush in studio with more... <<chris stand-up: in the two hours and 33 speakers tuesday night...we heard a lot of different reasons as to why or why not regarding changing the "savages" mascot...(sot,)(sot) emotionally fueled speeches... brought out several from around the savannah community and those who feel the most offended by the name and image...(sot,) (sot,)the savages mascot has been ingrained in the community for almost 100 years...and those fighting to keep it believe it shows power and is respectful toward native americans...(sot,)(sot,) chris stand-up: the school board won't make any decisions regarding the mascot...and school board president stancy bond told me it will take several meetings to decide if and what the board may do...if you'd like to hear all 33 individuals who spoke at the there is a link on our website at kq2.com>> buchanan
