The classroom that was affected has been cleared for deep cleaning and the students and teacher in the class have been directed to self-quarantine.

Medford school district says they've been working closely with jackson county public health throughout the entire process.

Natalie says: "they requested our contact tracing logs which is some thing that we now have for all of our summer school programs and summer athletics and activities" jackson county public health has notified anyone who had close contact.

M-s-d says that public health gave the ok for other classes to continue.

When asked about what it would take to close down an entire school, msd said -- that's something they're waiting for direction on.

Natalie says: "we are really hoping to get some clarity on what the threshold is for when we would need to shut the school down or shut an entire wing down for example meanwhile, older students are expressing concern over the upcoming school year.

Yosalin says: "they're concerned about their elective classes about sports and sports seasons obviously these are things that honestly motivate kids to go to school in the first place and without them it's going to be really hard" yosalin is the student body president at south medford high school and is a member of the governor's council who is working to provide perspective to fall plans.

Yosalin says: "that's kind of the biggest thing with this virus right now nothing is stable nothing is finalized it's all over the place there's no certainty" alicia says: "its not just the medford school district that is announcing any kind of connection to the virus.
