Karen what have you learned about that inmate?

Captain dave kain with the tehama county sheriff's office says the inmate came in about a week and a half ago.

Kain tells me the inmate's a man in his 20's.

During the booking process he says they noticed he had risk factors and they needed to screen him more.

That's when they took him to the hospital.

He was referred to out to the st.

Elizabeth hospital at which point he was tested for covid-19 and precautions were put in place while he was returned to the custody of the jail.

The tehama county sheriff's office says they learned two days ago that the inmate was positive.

They're keeping him in isolation.

Tehama county public health says they are monitoring that inmates status daily.
