Pulling back on the re- opening of the state.

As cases rise -- governor andy beshear is working with the white house's covid-19 response team to crack down on the spreading virus.

This comes after a recent surge of cases across the bluegrass--- 44news reporter megan diventi joins us live tonight from henderson with more on the governor message--- megan?

Brian and jessica-- as of now the governor has already issued a mask mandate across the state---along with limiting gatherings to ten people or less... but today--the governor announcing the newest steps that will go into effect tomorrow... governor beshear says free standing bars throughout the state are to close for two weeks----indoor restaurant capacity will be reduced to 25 percent..... outdoor dining is permitted without capacity restraints as long as social distancing is maintained.... the big take away for schools in the bluegrass--- governor beshear recommending both public and private schools wait until the third week of august to start in person classes..... the kentucky governor says now is the time for the state to take necessary action.

On saturday--- the state recorded its*second-highest single-day total since the pandemic began with 836 cases.... the state also reporting more than 700 deaths as of this afternoon... stay with us as i'll have more on this story tonight at nine and ten... for now reporting in henderson-- megan diventi.
