BILL SHANKS CONTINUES HIS CONVERSATION WITH PERRY HIGH SCHOOL HEAD FOOTBALL COACH KEVIN SMITH THE COACH'S CORNER.

C1 3 b13 center intro stormcast perry football coach kevin smith sat down with our bill shanks recently to discuss the panthers' upcoming season.

Here's part two of their conversation in the coach's corner.

Watch kevin smith, the perry panthers and his four season panthers coming off a 75 record and coach smith.

You've got a luxury.

You've got some skill players back for this season, including lane rocker, the quarterback who had a very good year last year by cal kendrick, they're running back.

They kwan right?

The wide receiver.

Not everybody in the middle.

Georgia can say they have three big skill players coming back like that kid.

Uh, no, sir.

And i'm very excited about those guys.

They are very, uh, talented, uh, dikwon wright played a lot as a sophomore, uh, last year and, and you know, he's an athlete and we put in quarterback at tight end and sits in per, in certain situations.

Applying rocker.

Brian has a great deal of experience back.

Uh, you can tell that practice seems to the leader of our office, which they should be.

Uh, he has worked extremely hard during all the pandemic and he's done everything he can to put yourself in a position to lead his team.

Uh, this year, uh, running back mckell kendrick, uh, you know what?

I would have rushed for a thousand yards.

It was right at it.

900 hurt his ankle right there toward the end of the season.

Uh, but he is a force to be reckoned with really good running back.

And then we have another young man that is going to play a lot of football and play watt force last year in, in situations courtesy.

It, uh, he's a dynamic player, big, exciting player to watch.

So i'm excited about our steel guys coming back.

And especially what i experienced at quarterback, a big recruit on the offensive line at junior donovan haslam.

Uh, it was really yelling or start or turning star on the offensive line, but when you have a kid like that, who's got that kind of talent.

Does he kind of help those around him?

Oh, absolutely.

And donovan, uh, you know, he's six five about three, 10, three 20.

And, uh, he's grown up a lot last year.

You know, he was just a little puppy, a sophomore play in and, uh, man, he has worked extremely hard this off season.

He's grown.

He's just 15 years old.

I wish we could have found some way to red shirt him.

It should've been going into the task.

Right.

But, uh, he's, uh, he's long and he's, uh, he's a very, very talented, uh, young man who was definitely going to help all those around him, up front, on our office, in land.

That's great.

That's good to have that kind of player.

You're moving from region to region four in quad, a ball and howard rutland spalling west lauren's west side.

Uh, look, you, you made strides last year in the region to, uh, and this is going to be a challenge here for this new region, won't it?

Yes, sir.

There's no doubt.

You know, uh, uh, last year we, we ended up playing for the region championship for the first time, since 1983.

And, uh, you know, that was a big deal for our program.

So, uh, hopefully if we can, uh, you know, uh, manage to get back there this year, we'll have a little more experience that playing in that game.

But, uh, you know, we, might've lost a pose like a ups and lady and, uh, and, um, mary persons, but we picked up balwyn and a west side and, you know, uh, those are very, very, very talented, uh, football players, or there's going to be a lot of parody in our, in our region this year.

And it's gone.

It's going to come down.

I really think it'll come down to that last game again this year.

And they baked sue during the regular season.

Be some great football games.

No, right in that region.

First game, september the fourth, that hoco should be a good game.

Coach smith.

Thank you so much for your time.

We appreciate it.

Good luck to you this season.

Yes, sir.

Thank you, bill.
