Local schools answer questions about reopening

Herkimer and Sauquoit Valley hold informational forums

Still have many unanswered questions.

To answer those questions local school districts are holding virtual informational meetings over the course of the next few weeks.

Tonight, the sauquoit valley and herkimer school districts held their informational forums. this evening's herkimer forum centered on plans to reopen the high school.

The middle school will be holding their forum tomorrow, while the elementary school will hold its on wednesday both at 7 pm.

The herkimer school district has decided to implement a hybrid learning structure for the high school, with students splitting up the learning experience between the classroom and home.

"i like to look at it as the best of both worlds, kind of making the best of our circumstances.

In this hybrid model our students are in the building for 2 to 3 days a week.

Some students will be here on mondays and thursdays, and some students will be here on tuesdays and fridays.

Specialized instructions may also take place on wednesdays depending oyour cose of sty, but wednday willprimarily s intecting even thou we are noin the sa place."

Overin sauqn informational zoom meeting to answer questions that were submitted to a panel that consisted of various school officials.

Those questions ranged from where students would be doing their learning, to how they would be transported safely to and from school without spreading the coronavirus.

"we will be scanning the temperatures on all students before they board the bus.

We'll be doing it outside the bus.

We will have an attendant that will call the students name.

The student will be scanned, and if the student is ok, the student will get on the bus and go to their assigned seat."
