Midtown marred by gun violence in this month.

Prosecutors have charged one person in connection to a shooting on lafayette street.

Prosecutors charge te'avion hawkins with shooting at a car on near 30th and lafayette.
This is one of the midtown shootings that happened in the last month.
The court documents filed in buchanan county court -- allege hawkins knowingly shot a gun at a silver dodge caliber in the early afternoon on august 9th in the area of 3000 lafayette street.
According to the filings -- hawkins was previously convicted of first-degree burglary in buchanan county in 2017.
Police were called to the area to investigate reports of shots fired - and found shell casings and a video of the incident.
Police allege a man exited a white parked car -- ran and shot after a silver dodge driving away until both were out of view.
The man runs -- coming from the opposite direction -- back into the camera's view.
Additionally police say a witness acount identified hawkins as the shooter.
The shooting occured the same day as another midtwon shooting that resulted in the death of 2-year-old raelynn craig near 20th and messanie streets.
When we asked buchanan county prosecutor ron holliday if the charge against hawkins has any connection to the death of raelynn -- he said he cannot comment at this time.
