This morning 242 people in harstelle city schools are quarantined after 14 people tested positive for the coronavirus.

Waay31s sierra phillips is live with what's next for the school district, sierra?

The hartselle city schools superintendent told us that if 20 percent of students and 17 percent of teachers test postive at one time, they might look at closing down that particular school.

But-- those numbers aren't set in stone.

This morning we know every school in the district has students and teachers self isolating.

Hartselle intermediate has 2 positive cases, barkley bridge and hartselle junior high have 3 positive cases, and the high school has 6 positive cases.

The superintendent says their plan could change.

"we're looking and reevaluating our plan to look at the number of impact, the number of students impacted by this so, where we have more cases or where we've had to quarantine more students.

So, right now we are in the process of 'do we need to address that'" she added that the district is following all the alabama department of health guidelines.

And parents will continue to be called if their student has been exposed.
