But fans will not have the same game day experience as previous years.

Purdue university has seen many new regulations amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Those include changes to the upcoming footballeason.

News 18 spoke with purdue president mitchhat fanscan eew season.

Games at ross-ade stadium will look and sound different this year.

Daniels: "the parking lots completely out of play."

Fans will not be allowed to tailgate ahead of home games this year.

According to purdue president mitch daniels parking lots will be blocked off.

Daniels: "on those days we probably will ask the police to move around incase somebody is not respecting the rules we've asked them to."

And the only fans in the stands will be family members of players and coaches.

Over summer, purdue was also in talks with the tippecanoe county health department about attendance at games.

Daniels: "local health authorities seemed open to some fraction of an open-air stadium like ross-ade, maybe as much as quarter.

That would be as much as 15 thousand fans."

Now, stricter attendance guidelines are in place across the entire big ten conference.

Daniels: "the big ten has decided only family of players and coaches and staff.

And as far as i know, that will be the rule throughout."

Daniels said purdue would resume talks with the tippecanoe county health department if the big ten decides tonce restrictions.

If that were to the health department would have to approve any change the universy presents.
