Right at 8 o'clock this morning - when the courthouse opened - there was a long line of people mason city, ia people aren't just voting in person... the auditor's office telling kimt news 3 that a record 7 thousand ballots were mailed out.

Cerro gordo county auditor adam wedmore says he has heard from eager voters - that they're happy with the different options to safely cast their ballots.

They've happily waited in line for the certain amount of time to get them processed, they've been eager to get their ballot and excited to cast their ballot and looking forward to the results on election night."

For those of you looking to request a mail-in ballot... you'll have to do so by october 24th.
