6, marked the beginning of early voting throughout the Hoosier State.

Starting today -- voters can cast their ballots in person today as early voting begins in vanderburgh county.

44news reporter marisa patwa is live outside of the old national events plaza with more on how voting is going to look a little different.

Good morning tommy and lauren.

Normally, early voting would take place at the election office inside the civic center but with concerns on crowd sizes, voting is now taking place at the old national events center, as there is more room to socially distance.

Voters must bring their ids and masks with them.

And they will be casting their ballots on new machines that were purchased with a 2 million dollar federal grant over the summer.

For voters who have a hard time making it to vote during the weekday, can do so on saturday oct.

24th and 31st.

Later in october, more early voting will open up at several of the evansville vanderburgh library locations starting at noon on monday, oct.

19th.

44news spoke with vanderburgh county clerk carla hayden and she says six poll workers are handling the polls at the old national events center tuesday and that she doesn have an anticipated number yet of voters.

But she said she is certain this is an election like none other early voting ends at noon on monday, nov.
