Several teachers test positive for the potentially-deadly virus

Entire third grade at nettleton primary school is now under a quarantine for the next two weeks because of the coronavirus.

W-t-v-a's wayne hereford joins us live in nettleton, where he spoke with the nettleton superintendent about what forced him to make the move.

Nettleton superintendent tim dickerson says he is not taking any chances right now when it comes to the coronavirus spreading in his schools .

That's why all third grade students are taking virtual classes right now.

"well our third grade, within about a 24-hour period, we had several teachers had tested positivel" superintendent tim dickerson explained what he and school leaders did after they found out about the teachers testing positive for the coronavirus.

"once we did a little looking in that situation we found out that we might as well go ahead and send our third graders home , do distance learning for two weeks.

Get our teachers back as quick as they can, and start over in two weeks.

Dickerson said he and other school leaders are simply following federal and state health guidelines as best they can he added the district already dealt with three coronavirus outbreaks this year.

"we sent our fourth grade home for several days earlier.

And then we did the same thing with the high school.

Those were more precautions than anything.

This time we are putting our third graders under quarantine.

That's the difference between the three anyway."

Dickerson hopes in two weeks that all of the coroanvirus issues at nettleton primary school here will be over.
