New facility for the Jeremiah Program

Fundraising efforts still underway

The jeremiah program is a national nonprofit aimed at ending the cycle of poverty for single mothers and their children.

Today the organization cut the ribbon cutting on its new rochester facility.

I spoke to one mom who tells me what this program means to here.

Kayla stewart is a single mom of two girls under 3.

Before the jeremiah program stewart was having a hard time making ends meet.

The program has given her the tools she needs to navigate life.

She loves the bond she's formed with other mothers.

"we talk about our struggles, we help each other with our children.

I can be in a safe place.

I have a safe place for my children there are people here that care about me and want me to succeed.

It's just like i know i'm home now."

This building cost 16.9 million dollars.

They need to raise 150,000 more this is the jeremiah program's seventh and largest campus in the nation.
