We Taught Our Daughters To Hunt - Aged 10 | MY EXTRAORDINARY FAMILY

BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA - FEBRUARY 20, 2021: A FAMILY who moved off grid have been teaching their daughters to shoot and kill animals since they were 10 years old.

Rose and Jeff Burkinshaw and their five daughters, Christina, Julia, Abigail, Keziah and Sarah have lived in a cabin in the Canadian wilderness for 10 years.

Out in the bush they hunt for their food with all of the girls knowing their way around a gun.

But some onlookers disagree with the lifestyle this family has chosen.

Rose told Truly: “When we first moved out to this property a lot of people questioned what we were doing.

We get the odd person who is negative, they don’t understand what we're doing here.” Jeff added: “There were times where people were very aggressive.” Jeff and Rose have chosen to homeschool their children, with most of their lessons being unconventional to say the least.

Jeff said: “When you break out of the normal school idea, the sky is the limit.” Rose added: “They’re really free to decide whether they enjoy drawing, or if they enjoy riding horses, or if they enjoy welding.

It’s not set to ‘this is girl, and this is what you have to do’.

Living this type of lifestyle has really given them the opportunity to really explore the things that they enjoy doing.” Socials: https://www.instagram.com/gridlessness/?hl=en https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClt1rDdFd-VUX8VXmWummSQ
