Illinois Man Sentenced To Nearly 9 Years In 2020 Riot Case

A downstate Illinois man has been sentenced to nearly nine years in prison for setting a cellphone store on fire in Minneapolis during the unrest following the murder of George Floyd by police there.

The same man, Matthew Lee Rupert, 29, was arrested in Chicago and accused of trying to cause further "damage" shortly afterward.
