I am not only the concerned spouse in this situation but I am a Medical Surgical RN of 5 years and a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with 15 years of Family Medicine experience and currently practicing as a Rheumatology Nurse Practitioner.
All this to say that I am acutely aware of clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures when it comes to in-patient care and expectations that family have when it comes to caring for their loved one.
