Obito Uchiha was a member of the Uchiha clan of Konohagakure.
He is reported dead during the Third Shinobi World War, and the Sharingan he bequeathed to his teammate Kakashi Hatake is his last surviving legacy.
In actuality, Madara rescued Obito’s life and taught him, but the war’s events disillusioned him with reality, and he inherited Madara’s plan to construct an ideal world.
Obito resurfaced under the aliases of Tobi and Madara Uchiha himself, quietly gaining control of the Akatsuki and utilising them to further his plans before going public and initiating the Fourth Shinobi World War.
Obito, however, had a change of heart near the end of the conflict and, as penance, sacrificed his life to rescue the same world he sought of replacing.
