Lynbrook and Malverne firefighters, part of Nassau County Firefighters Operation Wounded Warrior, left Lynbrook fire headquarters on Friday, December 8th for the Soldier Recovery Unit at Fort Belvoir in Virginia.
Other Nassau County firefighters from the Floral Park, New Hyde Park, Bellerose, Bellerose Village, and Levittown Fire Departments were at hospitals and rehabilitation units at Bethesda, MD, Fort Bragg, now called Fort Liberty, and Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.
