During house-clearing operations in central Gaza, two buildings exploded and collapsed, resulting in the deaths of 21 soldiers.
An additional three officers were reported killed in intense fighting in the southern city of Khan Younis, bringing the total Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) death toll during the ground operation to 219.
Israel's Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, described it as a "difficult and painful morning" and emphasised the need to achieve the goals of the fighting.
