Nottingham Forest has been handed a four-point deduction for overspending. The sanction drops the team into the Premier League’s relegation zone with two months left in the season. Forest was found to have breached the league’s profitability and sustainability regulations. Forest went above the threshold in the assessment period ending in 2022-23. The team managed by Nuno Espirito Santo fell from 17th to 18th and onto 21 points. Luton is on 22 points and climbed out of the relegation zone as a result.
